Project storyTHE WORK

The product work around the model

A convincing image can start a design conversation. It cannot decide which parts of a room should stay fixed, what the client wants to compare, or how a designer should revise the result. Designesto focuses on that surrounding workflow.

My role spans product direction and the engineering choices behind the experience, working with product, engineering and design teams. The aim is to make exploration usable in the course of designing a space, not to replace the designer’s judgment.

Focused tasks instead of one prompt box

Restyling an existing room, developing a sketch and exploring an empty interior begin with different information. They should not require the same setup. A focused workflow can make the input clear and give the designer a useful next action after the first result.

This is the product work I find most important around generative systems: translating an open-ended capability into a task someone can recognise, use and revise.

Revision is the real interaction

The first output is rarely the end of the conversation. A designer may want another material without losing the approved layout, or a different atmosphere without changing the room itself. Those requests make control more important than novelty.

I treat preservation as a design requirement. The product needs to make clear what the user is asking to change and what they expect to keep. A more impressive render is not a successful revision if it abandons the decision that had already been made.

Images, video and panoramic communication

Images help compare directions. Video helps communicate a sequence or movement through a proposal. A panoramic experience lets someone look around rather than accept a single camera angle. These are related ways of communicating a space, with different constraints on consistency.

The development work connects those outputs around the design task. It does not make an image, clip or panorama a substitute for measurements, site conditions or construction details.

What the case covers today

Designesto’s current public case covers concept exploration, revision, and visual communication. Pricing and execution-ready output require structured product and project data, so I keep them outside the claim until they ship.

An image or panorama can help someone compare a direction. It cannot supply every measurement, site condition, or product fact needed to build the room.

Relationship to Blocks

Designesto helps people explore what a space could become. Blocks resolves the measurable room and product choices needed to price, validate, and hand that design forward. They support the same broader design process without claiming the same capabilities.
